“Iba pa rin ang sarap ng Hen Lin”

Hungry but short with cash, I bought my yummy siomai combo meal from my favorite dimsum house – Hen Lin. 

The combo includes 1 cup java rice, four pieces siomai and unlimited toyo and chili.

I guess I made the right decision after all.

I definitely enjoyed my merienda. Truly, “iba pa rin ang sarap ng Hen Lin.”

I left Shangri-la’s food court full and contented.

Cozy Starbucks

Finding myself again in a cozy place while enjoying the sunset of Manila, I wrote my Xander Angeles Digital Photography outline at Starbucks’ rooftop at Shangri-La.

Taiwanese Film Festival

Since the 23^rd of this month, the Taiwanese Embassy has been exhibiting Taiwan’s world-class films at the Shangri-La Mall. I guess, such exhibition might hasten the healing of wounds that have been made by the recent hostage-taking incident in our country.

This year, I was able to catch two out of their six films.

I was able to watch “The Chocolate Rap” and “Kung Fu Dunk.”

Being a Jay Chou fan, there’s no doubt I enjoyed his movie (Kung Fu Dunk) than the other one.

Figaro, Shangri-La

Eating at one of my favorite tambayan makes my hectic day relaxing. After my afternoon class, I went to Figaro, Shangri-La Mall branch, for a late lunch.

While waiting for my order, the soothing jazzy music of Lisa Ono and the alfresco-feel of the store made me forget my almost 8hour-work.

The pleasant waiter handed me my yummy but affordable meal, the tuscan chicken combo. This meal has a grilled chicken with a tomato base sauce, a fresh lettuce-cucumber-bell pepper salad and pasta of your choice.  I requested mine to be arriabiata to complement the tomato rich sauce of the chicken. Moreover, this meal comes with iced tea or iced coffee.
